We are almost two months into the FIRST Relic Recovery Season presented by Qualcomm , and teams are now heavily into the design, building, and coding phase of their year. With so much to do and events beginning to happen around the world, teams may have additional questions as they prepare. The FIRST� Tech Challenge Forums are the perfect place to have those questions answered! Team 6220 Centripetal is part of Swerve Robotics club from Woodinville, WA . This season, Team 6220 had a unique opportunity to assist the FIRST Tech Challenge with testing and roll-out of a newly approved electronics module. Read on to learn about their experiences with the new REV Robotics Expansion Hub. Q: Tell us a little bit about Team 6220 Centripetal.  How long have you been participating in the FIRST Tech Challenge?  Who are the members and mentors that make up the team? A: 6220 has been in FIRST Tech Challenge for 5 seasons, but our current team make-up has been together for 2 years. We have 8 students, a coach/hardware mentor, and an assistant coach/software mentor. Our coach is Dr. Fraser, and our Assistant Coach is Dr. Geffner. As for students, our team captain this year was Jarrod, who put a lot of time into team management. 2016 Dean�s List Award Winner Anika Yardi was chosen to speak at the 2016 Supporters Summit this past July. The Supporter Summit runs in conjunction with the Dean�s List Summit, where the 10 FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Competition Dean�s List Award Winners are invited to Manchester for a whirlwind of events! Anika was chosen to speak at Dean Kamen�s house, with Dean, Woodie Flowers, Don Bossi, and numerous vendors and supporters of FIRST in the audience. To the FIRST Tech Challenge program and whoever else's eyes this message finds its way to:               Oh, where to begin? I suppose a brief introduction. My name is Isaac and I am a Senior at Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. For years, I would stay after school, sit in the cafeteria, and see this group of kids working on something, which appeared to a robot of some kind. Last year is when I really started to understand. Some of my closest friends are on Walnut's FTC team, 6133 THE NUTS!, and through my school and through some team bragging of how amazing it was, I became extremely interested. Still I decided to ignore whatever this robotics team was, as it didn't seem to be the thing for me. How wrong I was! Have you slept since Kickoff, FTC community ? Or have you been lying awake replaying the Kickoff video and mentally designing a robot to compete in the game? It�s going to be a season of challenges, but we know that you are ready and able! Each Kickoff, we are so excited to share the new Game Challenge with you, and this year there were over 15,000 people at more than 70 Kickoff events around the world learning about the new game at 12 noon on Saturday � really exciting! Truly, the important question is, what do you think of FIRST RES-Q sm ?   So far the word on the street is that this is an awesome game with lots of opportunities to explore on the field and in designing your robot.
