With the new advancement strategy for our 2018-2019 season, FIRST � Tech Challenge will be inviting teams to FIRST Championship as they qualify from their state and regional championship events. Once a team qualifies they will receive an email invitation from FIRST Tech Challenge Headquarters. This invite will include important next steps in the registration process as well as badging, hotel, and travel information. A team will not be able to sign up for a hotel room until their championship event-host has sent their team information to FIRST Tech Challenge HQ, and they have accepted their email invitation from FIRST Tech Challenge. Once a team has confirmed that they will be attending FIRST Championship, they will be able to book their hotel room blocks.   We strongly recommend booking your team�s hotel rooms through FIRST . We�re excited to share the news that FIRST Tech Challenge will be making World Championships even louder next year! We�re expanding our footprints in both Houston and Detroit from 128 to 160 teams at each event. More teams mean more fun, and higher levels of competition from teams around the world. FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship registration fees will increase to $2,000 per team. This is the first increase in registration fees since we started the program back in 2007. The elimination of Super Regional events and those costs should help teams offset this increase. Season registration fees remain at $275, and we continue to drive down costs for rookie and veteran teams to obtain hardware and electronics. Our goal is to change the culture, inspiring more students by showing them the fun and excitement of STEM and Gracious Professionalism embedded in the FIRST culture. Good news, after the success of the sweepstakes programs last season FIRST Tech Challenge is having another this year! We are giving away 4 HP Pavilion Touch Screen Laptops over the last two weeks of August and first two weeks of September. Invite, Accept, or Youth Protection Program Screen Coaches� Congratulations!  You�ve started the process of creating a FIRST� Tech Challenge team for the 2016/2017 season. The next step is identifying coaches who will help organize your team, letting students experience all the fun and excitement of FIRST.  You will need a total of two coaches for each team. Happy Summer, FIRST� Tech Challenge Teams! That's right! We are more than half-way through the summer, and we here at Headquarters have not been idle (even while partaking in the occasion ice cream cone). The Team Information Matching System (TIMS) has been replaced by our new Team Registration housed within www.firstinspires.org . This system now plays host to ALL FOUR PROGRAM , has easier access between multiple Teams, and is located within our home website. FIRST� as an organization has moved to a single sign on within the FIRST Website ( my.firstinspires.org/Dashboard/ ). All Team Registration for each program is handled through this FIRST Portal. New Teams Once a FIRST account is created and an individual is logged in, Teams will be navigated to the Dashboard where they will be able to select �Create a Team�.
